A beautiful and unique scarf, woven entirely by hand on a rigid heddle loom.  I made this scarf from fibres which I spun by hand on a traditional spinning wheel - a lengthy process but one which yields beautiful and truly unique results! 

This lengthy scarf is approximately 150cm, with an additional 14cm twisted fringe at each end. The scarf is approx 24cm in width. 

Both warp and weft use a mixture of fibres including Shetland, Cheviot and Blue-faced Leicester sheep wool. The use of handspun yarn creates a soft scarf with beautiful warmth and weight, highlighting the rich texture of this one-of-a-kind garment. The check design contrasts a pale raspberry pink with a lighter cream wool, and the use of the two different yarns creates a subtly ‘rippled’ edge to the scarf, hence the name!

Being a wool-based garment, this item is recommended for cool hand wash only.
