'Winter Dreams' is a beautiful and unique scarf, woven entirely by hand on a rigid heddle loom.  This scarf is made from a range of different wools and plant fibres, all spun by hand on a traditional spinning wheel, and then woven using the visually striking 'clasp weft' technique.

Spinning fine and weaving in this way is a much lengthier process, but produces stunning results! This scarf took around 28 hours to complete. 

This lengthy scarf is approximately 193cm in length, with an additional 10cm twisted fringe at each end. The scarf is approx 22cm in width. 

The warp threads are a finely spun, cream coloured Blue Faced Leicester wool, one of the softest wools and comfortable to be worn next to the skin.  The weft is a combination of the same cream wool, alongside a blend of Merino wool and Tussah Silk in beautiful blues and lilacs.  The use of fine handspun yarn creates a scarf with beautiful warmth, weight and gentle drape, with the random clasped weft pattern creating a truly one-of-a-kind piece.

Being a wool-based garment, this item is recommended for cool hand wash only.
